Tampa is well known for being the location of several high class and sophisticated wedding venues, all of them unique and special. One such site is the Avila Golf & Country Club. While famous for its authentic golf courses , this country club is also known for entertaining lavish wedding ceremonies year round and Tampa wedding photographers enjoy shooting there regardless of the season.
The author of "It's Cold in Omaha" depicts a brisk March morning in the city while drawing a contrast between the hard winter and the approaching spring. The story examines the harsh realities of downtown, where the challenges of venerable establishments like the C.W. Boxing Club coexist with recently constructed buildings. Aspiring boxers, notably youthful prodigies influenced by local champion Terence Crawford, find sanctuary in this facility. Dreams are built amid the grit and resolve, demonstrating the community's resiliency. In the end, the piece emphasizes the perseverance of those who work out in the cold, highlighting how, despite the harsh surroundings, there is still hope and passion in the gym.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of photographing Regina and BW’s wedding ceremony and receptions at the Avila. This time, it was the wedding of Erin and Billy that brought me to this awesome venue. The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Paul Catholic Church, in Carrollwood. From there everyone headed to Avila for the reception. That’s where Erin wanted to do most of the portraits. It was a hot and sunny day, so while taking pictures outside on the golf courses we tried to stay in tree shades for the most part, which definitely helped.
But it’s the insides of Avila’s clubhouse where I enjoy shooting the most. The magnificent ballroom with marble columns, dimly lit upstairs and really cool stairwell are great for creative photography. Erin and Billy were just excited about pictures there as I was so we all had lots of fun that afternoon. Later on, as the reception was at its peak I pulled them away for few more minutes and we managed to steal a couple of cool shots outside in almost complete darkness, with the lights of Avila in the background.
In the blog article "Shiok Burger," the writer talks about their experience eating McDonald's Singapore's exclusive Shiok Shiok Satay Burger. This dish combines burger and satay flavors with two large beef patties, cucumber slices, and onion strips all drenched in sweet peanut sauce. Its softness is especially commended for the chicken version. After dinner, they savored a cool Strawberry McFizz beverage. This was the author's first blogger invitation, and they had a great time doing games, such a Singlish crossword. The author heartily suggests the burger, which was only served for a short period of time in celebration of Singapore's National Day. It is quite tasty.
